Bio

Keyonna joined WNADA in October of 2023 and serves as the Chief of Staff where she will oversee and coordinate initiatives across WNADA in support of the organization's neighborhood revitalization plan. Keyonna joins WNADA with more than 15 years of state service and recently served as the Executive Assistant/Council Liaison for the Maryland State Arts Council (MSAC) within the Department of Commerce. There, she combined her administrative skills with her love for the arts and educational experience from her studies at Morgan State University to provide effective and efficient support to the executive director, councilors of MSAC and the constituents of Maryland. She helped curate the Poet Laureate of Maryland program, in which the honorable position of Maryland’s Poet of Laureate is named.

Before serving with the Department of Commerce, she served as Panel Specialist for the Maryland Home Improvement Commission (MHIC) within the Department of Labor. As Panel Specialist she worked alongside investigators, MHIC commissioners and the Assistant Attorney General to provide Marylanders with thoughtful and responsive customer service and assistance while they navigated the complaint/claim process through administrative hearings.

Keyonna’s state service began with the Maryland State Department of Education where she served as assistant to the Executive Director of Teachers and Professional Development. During her brief tenure at MSDE Keyonna was introduced to many state agencies and the endless possibilities of work to be done by and for Maryland.
