Prior to starting her legal career, Ms. Torres interned with the District of Columbia Superior Court with the Honorable Magistrate Aida L. Menendez. She also interned with the District of Columbia Court of Appeals Honorable Judge Vanessa Ruiz. In her capacity as intern, she was able to observe court proceedings and provide research to the judge and law clerks. Ms. Torres also interned for the United States Equal Opportunity Commission in the District of Columbia and Mexican Amercian Legal Defense Fund. During law school, Ms. Torres honed her skills as a real estate abstractor conducting searches in the District of Columbia.
Ms. Torres has served on various boards, which include but are not limited to: The Childrens Home; The Baltimore Community Lending; Educational Base Latino Organization; the Baltimore City Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Baltimore City Environmental Control Board.
Additionally, Ms. Torres has been a member of various organizations, including: the Washington Bar Association (Young Lawyers Division); the Maryland Hispanic Bar Association; the DC Hispanic Bar Association; the Alliance of Black Women; the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Real Estate Brokers and Lambda Alpha International.
Jasmin M. Torres is a native New Yorker, born and raised in the Bronx and Manhattan. She attended Fashion Industries High School . Ms. Torres later attended Suny New Paltz and the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law.
