Erich recognized how limited regional public transportation infrastructure negatively impacted his communities’ access to activities of daily living and economic opportunity. To address these issues head-on he became the Senior Planner and Operations Manager for a newly formed regional public transportation authority, where he planned and executed the expansion of regional transportation services that enhanced connections across activity centers and modernized the system’s transit technologies.
In 2021 Erich moved to Washington, DC to gain a comprehensive understanding of community planning and is expected to complete his Master’s in Urban & Regional Planning from Georgetown University in Spring 2024. Simultaneously working as the Senior Program Associate with the Community Transportation Association of America. Erich primarily worked with the National Center for Applied Transit Technology (N-CATT), a technical assistance center that supports technological adoption for under-resourced transit agencies. In this role Erich helped transit agencies navigate the complexities of technology projects ranging from farebox modernization to real-time fleet tracking, to alternative fueling. He has facilitated national presentations on Transit-Oriented Development, Land Use, Inclusive Transportation Planning, Fleet Electrification Planning, and was CTAAs lead geo-spatial analyst for mobility planning studies. Erich has a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies with a minor in Economics from Cazenovia College.
