Christy is a former (AmeriCorps) Lead for America Fellow who served with WNADA as a Community Revitalization Coordinator as she constructed community development and neighborhood revitalization logic models, prepared land maps using Geographic Information Systems, and conducted case studies of national best practices in urban planning. Currently an MPP candidate at The University of Maryland School of Public Policy, she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science with a concentration in Pre-Law and a minor in Sociology from Coppin State University.
Prior to working with the West North Avenue Development Authority, Christy was an academic intern for the Fund for American Studies, where she studied the foundations of Leadership and the American Presidency. While with this organization, she drafted articles and reports on technical and political documents and public affairs issues. She is a former White House HBCU Competitiveness Scholar and recipient of the Joe Manns Black Wall Street Award, The Distinguished Eagle Award, and the 2022 Unsung Hero Award. She is also a member of the Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
